Maya
MAYA is free. We do not sell anything about you, and there are no ads.
To work, MAYA keeps what you put into it: your Google account, the pictures you upload, the photograph of the face you are designing for, what you say out loud during a consultation, and the garments MAYA renders. All of it lives in Mana Siyo's own Google Cloud project.
Two things leave your account, and only because you chose it. A garment you heart appears on the community wall, where every signed in person can see it next to your first name. A project you share by link can be opened and copied by whoever holds that link.
Delete a project and it goes, along with its wall posts and its share copies.
Your account. When you sign in with Google, MAYA receives your email address, your name and your profile picture from Google. It never sees your Google password.
Pictures you bring. Inspiration images you upload, fabric photographs, and pictures you import from a link or from Pinterest.
The face photograph. MAYA lets you attach a photograph of the person a garment is for, so the renders show that person rather than a stranger. If you are a designer uploading a client's photograph, you are responsible for having that person's permission first. We treat these photographs as the most sensitive thing in the system. They are used only to render the garments you ask for: MAYA does not run facial recognition, does not create or keep any scan of face geometry or other biometric identifier, does not use a photograph to identify anyone, and never sells a photograph or shares it for advertising. Replace or remove the photograph, or delete your account, and it is deleted from the system.
Measurements. Height, inseam and other body measurements you type in, when you choose to add them.
What you say. If you use the microphone, the recording is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text, and the text is kept with your project. The audio itself is not stored by MAYA.
Your work. Projects, the cards on your board, notes, the garments MAYA renders, and which ones you hearted.
Submissions. If you submit a design to the atelier, the summary and the pictures are filed to Mana Siyo so the garment can actually be made.
Technical records. Ordinary server logs, which include the email address of whoever made a request, kept so faults can be diagnosed and abuse stopped.
Analytics. MAYA uses Google Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies and tells us how many people used the site, not who you are.
Your projects are private to your account by default.
The community wall. When you heart a garment MAYA generated, that picture is published to the wall, where anyone signed in to MAYA can see it, along with your first name and the garment's one line description. Uploaded photographs, fabric pictures and face photographs are never published there. Take the heart away and the post comes down.
Sharing a project. When you press share on a project, MAYA makes a link and copies that project's pictures into it. Anyone with the link can open it and save their own copy. Their copy is theirs; yours stays yours, and changing or deleting one never touches the other. Delete the project and the link stops working.
MAYA is small and uses a few outside services. None of them are given your data to use for their own purposes.
Google. Sign in, and the hosting, database and storage that MAYA runs on, inside Mana Siyo's own Google Cloud project in the United States.
OpenAI. OpenAI does MAYA's thinking. What you write and what you say in a consultation, the transcript of your voice, the measurements you add, your reference pictures, fabric photographs and the face photograph are sent to OpenAI's API to be understood, and the garment renders are generated there too. Voice recordings are sent there to be transcribed. OpenAI states that data sent through their API is not used to train their models unless the account opts in, and MAYA has not.
Google AI. Some fabric imagery may be analyzed or visualized with Google's AI models. Those calls run inside Mana Siyo's own Google Cloud project, and any picture they produce is a generated illustration, labeled as such, never a photograph of real fabric for sale.
AI generated content. Every garment picture MAYA shows you is generated by artificial intelligence unless it is a photograph you uploaded yourself. Generated pictures carry the machine readable provenance marks their models embed, so tools can recognize them as AI made, and MAYA labels its illustrative pictures in the interface. This is our transparency practice under the rules emerging for AI systems, including the EU AI Act and California's AI transparency law.
Pinterest. Only if you connect your Pinterest account. MAYA then reads your boards and the pictures on them so you can choose some, and copies only the pictures you pick. MAYA never posts anything to Pinterest and cannot see your Pinterest password. Disconnect at any time from the same screen, which deletes the connection from our side.
Stripe. Only if you leave a tip. Stripe handles the payment and the card details. MAYA never sees your card number.
Everything lives in Mana Siyo's Google Cloud project, in the United States.
Projects and their pictures stay until you delete them. Submissions to the atelier are kept as business records of work commissioned. Server logs are kept for a short period for diagnosis. Analytics figures are aggregate and are kept by Google under their own retention settings.
Delete a project from the projects list and MAYA removes the project, its pictures, any wall posts it produced and any share copies made from it. This cannot be undone.
If you want your whole account and everything in it erased, write to us at the address below and we will do it, and confirm when it is done.
If you are a designer and the person in a face photograph asks for it to be removed, tell us and we will remove it, including from any project it was copied into.
MAYA is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly keep data about children. If you believe a child's data or photograph is in MAYA, write to us and we will remove it.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the new version appears here with a new date, and MAYA will say so on screen the next time you sign in.
